This weekend was a very sad one. Saying goodbye to a 17 year old boy that found his way into our lives from the other side of the world. I am still baffled about how this happened. One day, we did not know of his existance, ten months later, he was like a son to me...an integral part of our family. To see his empty bedroom leaves a hollow space in my stomach. How and why did all of this come to be? The part of this experience that stands out to me the most is the fact that despite the fact that we are from opposite parts of the world, we have more in common than hve differences. What a great thing to discover! Well, this is not a goodbye...it is a see you later! ust goes to show you that with every up there is a down.

back to work

Back to work after 4 days off! Last day of school for the little guys today...thank god! I'm ready for the summer! A little more laid back, not in such a rush to do homework and get to bed on time at the end of the day. It will be a challenge however to keep some kind of structure and sanity in the house! The Older kids are still in bed because last exam was yesterday. We are preparing to say goodbye to the exchange student who has been with us since October :(. He will be missed greatly. While reading through my daughter's journal from school, I found a page which deemed him her hero! Anyway...already running late this morning so I have to go wake the little cherubs! I made them guilt muffins this morning because my daughter complained that I have been giving them cereal every morning lately....trying to simplify ya know?
